Qualified Water Research – Our Quality Policy

Kompetenzzentrum Wasser Berlin (KWB) is a water research centre which was founded in 2001 as a private-public partnership with registered office in Berlin. Our shareholders are Berliner Wasserbetriebe and Technologiestiftung Berlin.

KWB develops and organises research projects and provides research results addressing key challenges related to water resources management and protection. The research activity is structured in three specialised departments: groundwater, surface water as well as water and wastewater technologies. According to its statutory mission, KWB strengthens the climate for innovation in Berlin’s water sector through network and PR activities. For this reason, our scientific, research and network activities are mainly realised in cooperation with universities, research institutions and regional enterprises.

Our customers are network and research partners as well as sponsors to whom we guarantee the maximum quality level of all our activities on the basis of our certified quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008.

The KWB management commits to an excellent professional practice and quality. All our staff members are acquainted with the quality standards and quality processes and are bound to implement the according guidelines in their work. The general commitment of the management is directed towards the continuous efficiency improvement of our quality management. All descriptions and guidelines are adjusted with the general management of KWB and are valid for all members of staff.

The management undertakes to implement all defined elements of our quality management manual and thus emphasises our particular expertise in the professional performance of research, communication and network activities.
