Wells

In Germany, drinking water is mainly sourced from groundwater and is extracted from vertical filter wells, horizontal filter wells, or entire well galleries. Each well is a disturbance to the ecological structure of the soil and the hydraulic and hydrochemical conditions in the aquifer. Changes in the water quality caused by substances such as iron, manganese, or microorganisms can lead to ageing of the well infrastructure. As a result, the efficiency of the wells decreases, which can be due to increasing drawdown at a constant flow rate, or decreasing flow rate at a constant operating water level.

Our experts analyse the causes of well ageing, evaluate regeneration measures, and develop rehabilitation concepts. We are committed to the sustainable use of groundwater.
