The group Water & Risk quantifies and assesses risks in water supply and sanitation systems. Our research primarily focuses on developing innovative methods for risk modelling and evaluation, which we apply to support decision-making processes.
As a cross-disciplinary team, our areas of application are as diverse as the potential risks we address. These include health-related, environmental, physical, and digital risks. To effectively tackle this wide range of challenges, we collaborate closely with other research groups at KWB, combining specialised knowledge and methodological expertise.
Overview of Core Competencies:
Analysis and assessment of microbiological and chemical risks in the context of water reuse and bathing water quality
Modelling water losses caused by leaks in drinking water networks
Risk modelling for the condition assessment of sewer systems
Analysis of digital risks to ensure data integrity
